Chongqing - During the War of Resistance, numerous cultural, political and commercial giants swarmed into Chongqing, leaving precious historical memories here. However, that period of passionate time has now been hidden in the city. Only the bricks and the tiles of old buildings silently tells the stories of those years.
Here is a guide to some of the former residences of celebrities in Chongqing during that era.
Xu Beihong once prepared to set up the China Academy of Art in Panxi, Chongqing. After a five-minute walk through the stairs behind the old house of Xu Beihong, the Shijia Garden is in sight. He often lived in the basement of the garden, where he completed most of his works, including the famous Ba People Drawing Water.
