According to the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, they will focus on inland opening-up in 2019. The office plans to cooperate with foreign countries to promote the central and western regional international exchange center. In addition, the Foreign Affairs Office will achieve 21 international cooperation in 2019, including other countries and regions.

The 21 cooperation with target countries and regions

In 2019, the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government focuses on inland opening-up. In order to achieve the aim, the office plans to implement the plan of international cooperation. Meanwhile, it will play the leading role in marketing, regarding some regions as key destinations. These destinations contain places along with the track of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and China Railway Express (Chongqing) to Europe. In the meantime, places which connect direct flights or embrace large tourist sources are also key destinations. Moreover, it also includes places with foreign investments and the target markets with foreign trade growth. Besides, Chongqing will enrich the network of China-Europe freight trains and open more than 10 new international routes.

Chongqing will develop equipment manufacturing, IT and mart industry, automobile industry, medical, new energy, aviation, and so on. Therefore, the city will promote communication with other countries and regions. Also, it will help to drive the exchange and cooperation in industrial fields.

The central and western regional international exchange center

the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government strives to the development of urban internationalization in 2019. Concurrently, Chongqing will endeavor to the large-scale international conference, events of foreign consulates, and conduct international friendship cities’ exchanges. Hence, it will promote the external communication supporting function and optimize the international soft environment in Chongqing.

Moreover, the city will prepare for international events better, such as Smart China Expo and Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade. In the meanwhile, the city will invite international countries to explore cooperation, like Singapore, Russia, Germany, and so on.

Furthermore, Chongqing will conduct cultural events which will connect the communication with consulates in Chongqing and Chengdu. It will help encourage cooperation with these countries in political, economic, scientific and technological, and cultural fields.
