Where can you find eye-catching graffiti in Chongqing downtown, Southwest China? The old campus of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI) at Huangjueping will first come to your mind. However, it is not unique. Recently, the reporter found plenty of colorful graffiti on the side-walls of several roads in Liangjiang New Area. It’s really cool!

Behind IKEA and on the 9th Jiagongqu Road, the colorful graffiti cover on the roads’ side-walls, stretching nearly 100 meters. There are pigs, octopuses, several ink-wash goldfish and others.

“It was still lifeless before the Chinese New Year, but now, it looks much better with these graffiti.” Chen, who was taking a photo with the graffiti, told us. She often goes shopping at the OUTLETS nearby. And this was her first visit after the Chinese New Year. She found the eye-catching graffiti had decorated several concrete walls. So she couldn’t help getting out of the car and taking some pictures.

These graffiti walls belong to the enhancement project of Chongqing LiangLu Cuntan Free Trade Port Area for surrounding environment landscape. Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Municipal Landscape Construction Co., Ltd. is responsible for the construction. The landscape area covers an area of 15,000 square meters. In addition, the company also carries out greening and planting, water and electricity installation, landscape layout, etc.

A logistics park had been here before

“The areas around IKEA and OUTLETS are our focuses. Therefore, we designed graffiti walls with a total length of about 1 kilometer and an area of 2,500 square meters.” Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Municipal Landscape Construction Co., Ltd. has provided this introduction. A logistics park had been here before. Since the logistics companies have moved out, this area will focus on commerce in the future. In order to make the environment beautiful without destroying the sidewalks and side-walls, they designed the graffiti to upgrade the landscape.

The company invited a professional team of SCFAI to create these graffiti. Without given requirements or restraint conditions, the graffiti writers can doodle as they like, creating a strong artistic atmosphere.
