Citizens are amazed at clusters of the attractive, bowl-sized flowers, which stretch for approximately one kilometer long along the road in Jiangbei District. The flower-decorated road, therefore, becomes a new landscape.

Flowers belt along with the road

Seen from the pedestrian overpass there, these dense bowl-sized flowers are probably white hydrangeas. In addition, they are much larger than the fist of an adult.

The flowers and the city

According to an expert from Greening and Garden Management Institute of Jiangbei District, these flowers are hydrangea viburnum or Chinese snowball. They are deciduous or evergreen shrubs belonging to the family Adoxaceae. The shrubs can grow to four or five meters tall, with the blooming period from April to June. Additionally, they produce large clusters of flowers that start out pale green and turn white as they mature.
