On April 25, the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (abbreviated as BRFIC below) was held in Beijing. Han Baochang, Director-General of the Administrative Bureau of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (abbreviated as CCI below), expressed that main logistics modes of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (abbreviated as ILSTC below) have all realized normal operation by joint efforts.

Han Baochang said, until this March, the departure of the international rail-sea intermodal passage achieved 901 runs, among which the  “Chongqing-Guizhou-Guangxi-Singapore” rail-sea intermodal passage added up to 854 runs with 197 ones destined 71 countries (e.g. Singapore) and 166 ports this year. The Chongqing-Hanoi International Railway Route has accumulated 67 runs, with 12 ones in 2019.

Chongqing-ASEAN Highway Regular Lorry has achieved 846 departures, including 185 ones in 2019. The service network has extended from Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar to Bangkok (Thailand), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Malaysia and Singapore.

In November 2018, China and Singapore signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor under the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity, reaching a new milestone in ILSTC.

On January 8, 2019, the Dialogue on the Joint Building of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity-New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (CCI-ILSTC)  kicked off in Chongqing. It gathered leaders of relevant national ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Development and Reform Commission, and representatives from central enterprises such as China Railway, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company and China Merchants Group, as well as those from 12 provinces/cities/regions in Western China and ASEAN countries (e.g. Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines), marking a further international reach of ILSTC.
