Chongqing- In the context of economic globalization, how will the inland region of China including Chongqing, affect the development of China, Asia, and the world economy? What important development opportunities will the “Belt and Road” initiative bring to the global economy? How should companies participate in business opportunities? In May, 300 global political and business dignitaries will gather in Chongqing to collide with ideas around these topics.

Asia300 Global Forum Chongqing Summit (Asia300) will be held on May 16 in Chongqing Wyndham Hotel. This event is organized by Chongqing Municipal People’s Government Press Office, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Daily News Group, Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkel), and Chongqing International Media Center. This summit will have more than 300 guests and experts from politics and business fields for the panel discussion. There are guests like Heizo Takenaka, Ingrid van Wees and other 8 important speakers will give their perspective during the summit.  Besides, the organizing committee will invite 30 elites from local Chongqing to participate in the event.

Nikkei Asia300 Global Business Forum is a commercial forum hosted by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun for Asia and the global economy. The forum mainly uses the Nikkei Index as the database to publish the annual Top 300 Listed Companies in Asia. It will focus, research and explore Asia`s economy. 

Since 2016, it has been held in Bangkok, Singapore, and other places. The previous topics include “Enhancing Asia’s Competitiveness”, “Resilience Strategy for Responding to Changing World Order” and “Destructive Innovation Management”.

This year's Asia300 Chongqing Summit was one of the important activities under the framework of the second WCIFIT. This is also the "first show" of the Nikkei Asia300 Global Business Forum in mainland China. The theme is Towards an Open Asian Economic Area: The Potential of Closer Partnerships. The participating experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs will focus on this topic and the Belt and Road initiative for the panel discussion in order to represent the outcome of the Belt and Road – communication, building together and sharing.

300 guests and 10 keynote speakers

There are ten keynote speakers such as Heizo Takenaka, a professor emeritus at Keio University and a professor at Toyo University in Japan. And he was formerly Minister for Economic and Fiscal Policy etc (2001-2006). and Ms. Ingrid van Wees, the Vice-President for Finance and Risk Management of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Moreover, Zhang Zhengrong, Regional Director from Nissin, and Zhao Mingqi, Co-President, Real Estate, GLP China, will hold a dialogue during the discussion. Luky Eko Wuryanto, Vice President and Chief Administration Officer from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), will also make a speech in the forum. Vivek Chaand Sehgal, founder, and Chairman of the Samvardhana Motherson Group and Jerry Hsu, Director of Kinpo Group will participate in the panel discussion. According to the organizing committee, they sent invitations to well-known Asian companies such as BOE, Tencent, Lenovo Group and Bank of East Asia, and the number of guests will reach 300 or more.

What`s the condition for registration? Foreign companies are the target. The organizing committee said that around the theme of the forum, the inviting guests will mainly target on foreign companies, large state-owned enterprises, etc., especially those with relevant investment and cooperation along with the “Belt and Road” initiative, in addition to lawyers, chambers of commerce, finance, and economy. Relevant professionals in other fields are also welcome.
