Chongqing plans to establish 32 trade delegations to attend the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) this year.
The current list released by the CIIEB covers 3,000-odd enterprises in 7 exhibition zones involving sci-tech life, automobile, equipment, medical instruments and health care, quality life, food and agricultural products, as well as service trade. To promote the success of purchasing project collaboration, Chongqing Municipal Government will organize more than 80 registered purchasing agents to attend a supply-demand matchmaking conference co-held by China International Import Expo Bureau (CIIEB), Bank of China (BOC), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), released Chongqing Commerce Commission on October 15.
Chongqing Commerce Commission plans to hold a Chongqing Investment Trade Cooperation Business Seminar during the CIIE.
As the only strategic partner of the CIIE, the BOC has used its strength in globalization, science, and technology to provide support in exhibitor solicitation, investment attraction, activities, services, forums, and other preparations for the CIIE. From November 6 to 8, the BOC will continue to hold the supply-demand matchmaking conference at the 2nd CIIE. It is also the 61st cross-border matchmaking conference held by the BOC. Currently, BOC has invited over 150 Chongqing enterprises to the matchmaking conference.
Chongqing Commerce Commission plans to hold a Chongqing Investment Trade Cooperation Business Seminar during the CIIE to promote investment and trade. Fortune Global 500 enterprises are expected to be invited to the seminar.
In addition, in response to the organizing committee’s calling for the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) exhibition, Dezhuang Hot Pot (known as the most popular hot pot in the world) in Chongqing trade delegation will display its ICH projects with local characteristics, to present the cultural features of Chongqing.
According to the Commission, it joined hands with the embassies of the UK, Australia, Azerbaijan, Japan and other countries in China as well as several business associations and Hong Kong Trade Development Council to have held 4 pre-exhibition supply-demand matchmaking meetings, 4 training sessions on import policy and close rate statistics and 3 signing ceremonies.
As of October 2019, over 70% of deals at the 1st CIIE were closed.
During the 1st CIIE, Promotion Forum on Chongqing as the Pioneer of Opening-up in Hinterland China and Key Industries Matchmaking Symposium was held in Chongqing. Hundreds of transnational companies and institutions were present at the meetings which introduced the social and economic growth, business climate, and industrial ecosystem of Chongqing. A total of 10 investment projects involving RMB 67.4 billion were signed at the meetings, including six letters of intent, three formal contracts, and one formal agreement.
