On November 12, 2019, Jiangbeizui New Financial Summit was inaugurated at Chongqing Grand Theater. More than 20 global financial experts and heads of institutions, including Finn Erling Kydland, 2004 Nobel Laureate in Economics, gathered in Jiangbeizui CBD, exchanging views on how to stimulate the Large-scale Western Development in a new era, how to promote co-construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and how to realize green development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

At the Summit, the People’s Government of Jiangbei District signed strategic cooperation agreements with People.cn and the Chinese Museum of Finance Group.

Based on the agreement, Jiangbei District will build the Chongqing Museum of Finance (tentative) together with the latter. It is expected to become a new financial landmark and a new communication platform in the city.

Located in the core area of Jiangbeizui CBD, the Museum will house public spaces such as libraries and cafes. It will hold diverse financial activities like exhibitions, lectures, forums, and salons.

Meanwhile, Jiangbei District and the Chinese Museum of Finance Group are going to organize a high-end and influential annual meeting for the financial industry with separate strengths and resources. Through varied activities, they would like to build platforms to facilitate communication between the government and the financial sector, capital market, and companies. As a result, the industry’s voices will be heard, concerns will be paid attention to, and influence will be improved. The project is going to begin soon.

“Chongqing Museum of Finance will catalyze cultural tourism development of the city, more than being a new financial landmark. As a new communication platform for the financial industry, it will play vital roles in popularizing financial knowledge, promoting industrial exchange, and advancing related studies and training,” said an officer from the People’s Government of Jiangbei District.
