Dazu, Chongqing – On November 19^th, the Dazu Forging Tool Creative Design Competition concluded with an award ceremony held in the Dazu District. The competition was hosted by the Chongqing Science and Technology Bureau and the Dazu District People’s Government.

The competition focussed on new ideas, new directions, materials, and processes for product innovation design and emphasized using big data as well as artificial intelligence in the development of cutting tools and kitchen tools. A total of 329 entries were submitted to the competition from all over the country by tool companies, freelance designers, creative design enthusiasts, and even college teachers & students. There were three main categories: kitchen knives, creative travel gift knives, and decorative boxes for cutting tools.

The expert teams selected the winners and the runners-up for the main prizes as well as the Special Design Award, Most Popular Award, as well as an organization award. Among the first prize winners were the Manhattan Design Institute of Chongqing University, a student team from Chongqing Normal University, and Chongqing Qiaofeng Hardware Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

To further strengthen the bond between design and manufacturing, the competition also provided an opportunity to reach out and forge new relationships. At the award ceremony, several cooperation agreements were also signed, and the competition aims to provide a platform for people from all walks of life, to be able to participate and support innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dazu Hardware Industry has implemented eight strategic action plans alongside Chongqing’s innovation-driven development in inland construction, science, and education. The proposals aim to strengthen several science and technology enterprises and effectively optimize the traditional industrial structure.

Under the umbrella of the 8^th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Chongqing Dazu Forging Tool Creative Design Competition, Dazu will put more focus on overall planning and development, for creating a suitable environment for the hardware industry.
