Release of the 2019 Chongqing Human Resources Service Industry Development Report

The 2019 Western Human Resources Service Expo raised the curtain in Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center on November 26. At the expo, Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau released the 2019 Chongqing Human Resources Service Industry Development Report. The report shows that, by late 2018, there have been 1,680 human resource service organizations in the city, with total revenue of RMB 30.7 billion.

Over 24,600 people worked in the human resources service industry

In recent years, the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government attach great importance to the development of the human resources service industry and have adopted a series of policy measures to promote the development of this industry, thus achieving remarkable results. The development of this industry has entered a new stage.

2018 delivered an unremitting expansion of the human resources service industry, increasingly abundant service products, the continuous improvement of service capability, and the continually improving degree of market allocation of human resources in Chongqing.

By the end of 2018, there have been 24,600 employees in the human resources service industry in Chongqing, a year-on-year increase of 10.31%, and the total revenue of the city’s human resource service organizations reached RMB 30.7 billion, among the highest in western China, with a rise of 15.4%.

2018 reached 10.8 million service staff members

The report points out that the quality and efficiency of human resources services have improved significantly. The number of staff in human resource service organizations reached 10.8 million in 2018, up 7.35%, greatly promoting employment. On-site job fairs in 2018 have gathered 133,073 employers, 1,747,203 posts and 1,929,884 job hunters, with an increase of 11.19%, 5.69% and 7.63% respectively.

Job seekers with a graduate degree or a higher degree accounted for 3.28%

According to the report, the quality of human resource service personnel in Chongqing has improved steadily.

Five senior seminars on the development of the human resource service industry were held in famous universities such as Zhejiang University and Xiamen University to improve the ability and quality of employees, training more than 280 senior executives. Five training sessions were held for key business personnel, training 539 key staff members of human resources service organizations. Meanwhile, human resources service organizations actively carried out various forms of staff training to comprehensively improve the ability and quality of their employees.

By late 2018, 71.57% of the city’s human resource service workers had a college degree or a lower degree, down 1.03%, the proportion of those with a bachelor degrees was 25.15%, basically the same as last year, and the percentage of those with a graduate degree or a higher degree was 3.28%, up 1.22%.
