In 2018, Chongqing launched the construction of community sports and cultural parks. We learned from the Chongqing Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau that up to now, the city has built 50 parks opened to the public.

To give play to the park’s community, sports, cultural functions, to meet the activity needs of the citizens, the parks are designed with comprehensive functions, integrating outdoor activities, cultural entertainment, and intelligent information. Free WIFI, real-time monitoring, intelligent police, intelligent broadcasting modules are all equipped within the parks. The leisure and recreational activities organized by the parks, such as singing, dancing, photography, painting, and handwork, make people’s spare time life more colorful. The parks have become public places for people to enjoy nature, culture, and art, even a shared sphere for community residents to communicate with each other.

Since 2019, there are a total of 35 sports, cultural and public benefit activities (events) held in the city’s community sports and cultural parks. In the near future, more community sports and cultural parks will be available for neighboring citizens. According to the Bureau, the remaining 42 parks will be opened in succession in 2020 based on the principle of “Open to the public once completed”.
