On December 25, Chongqing International Logistics Group (CILG) was officially inaugurated, marking a significant move of Chongqing on building an international logistics hub and exemplary city of opening-up in inland China.

Chongqing International Logistics Group is founded on November 25, 2019.

CILG is a critical state-owned enterprise instituted in the approval of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Municipal Government. It is a joint venture among Chongqing Transportation Holding (Group) Co., Ltd., China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd., China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, and Transfer Group Co., Ltd.

To serve national strategies, CILG will play as an international logistics service platform. It will operate as a market-oriented firm to intensify cooperation between foreign and domestic firms, integrate logistic resources of various types from various parties, and get through the corridor network of west China to other provinces and foreign countries. The company will strive to push ahead multimodal transport and whole-process logistics, explore new business types, new models, and mechanisms and build a modern logistics system of “channel + hub + network + platform.” It will improve the centralization, information, and internationalization levels of Chongqing, help Chongqing’s logistics sector to lower costs, raise efficiency and improve quality and enhance the core competitiveness and clustering and radiation power of the industry. CILG will help build an international logistics hub and an exemplary city of opening-up in inland China. It will boost the in-depth integration of logistics, trade, and industries and work to turn the channel strength into economic strength. The company mainly engages in logistics organization, freight forwarding service, logistics transport, logistics warehousing, logistics consulting, logistics information, etc.

The group will adhere to the market-oriented operation model and pay efforts on building three service platforms.

First, an international logistics service platform: the company will further optimize and arrange more international railway lines, stations, goods collection, and distribution sites. It will deepen the cooperation with west China regions and organize international freight trains, and multimodal transport means to jointly establish the operating platform and network of the corridors, especially the international logistics trade corridor, of west China to other provinces and foreign countries.

Second, a logistics public information platform. To solve the problems of logistics information islands and ineffective information channels, the company will exploit its strengths, further cooperation with relevant regions and enterprise, and integrate resources of logistics trading information platforms to build a logistics public information platform.

Third, a supply chain service platform. The company will adhere to the principle that the logistics sector should serve trade and industries.
