On February 1, a couple at their seventies, Jiang Wenqiang and Zhou Shengrong, living in Shuanggu Village, Yinglong Town, Nan'an District, donated more than 2,000 kilograms of home-grown fresh vegetables such as cabbage and radish to their nearest designated hospital- Chongqing Fifth People's Hospital, with the help of fellow villagers.

"There is nothing in our family, no doctor. I think only the vegetables could be helpful," said the senior man. He wanted the front-line medical staff to eat fresh vegetables.

"Everyone must ensure your own safety during the operation." Liu Mingchun, the deputy general manager of Jiangjin Winery Group, called employees' attention at the production line on early Saturday morning." Since yesterday morning, we have all been on duty to prepare for the production of ethanol disinfectant filling."

To further ensure the prevention and control of the epidemic situation in public places, the Jiangjin District Public Security Bureau recently purchased 10 tons of ethanol disinfectants from Yunnan Province. And Jiangjin Winery Group is responsible for the free dilution and filling of the ethanol disinfectants.

All the ten tons of disinfectants have been diluted and filled into 2400 barrels with 40 hours. "Everyone agrees that filling an additional bottle of disinfectant means less spread of the virus," said an employee named Wang Li.

"Director Liang, I have eaten up the vegetables. Could you please help me buy some?"

"Sure, what would you like to eat?"

"Chinese cabbage and mushrooms."

That is one of many daily conversations between Liang Yuebo, the director of the Bailu Community in Yubei District, and community residents.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, all Bailu Community workers have provided free "one-on-one" purchasing services, to reassure quarantined locals at home. Liang Yuebo said, "What the community workers do every day is to take a lot of calls from day to night to know the demands of residents and help them to buy daily necessities."

As of now, more than 90 staff members have been dispatched with total coverage of 11045 residents. The staff's personal mobile phone numbers have become 24-hour "hotlines" for community residents.

At 11:05 Saturday morning, bus driver Qing Mingfu slowly stopped the No. 304 bus at Nanping Station in Nan'an District.

Passengers on board got off and left. Qing Mingfu came to the dispatcher's office, washed his hands, took out a bottle of disinfectant, and returned to the just-arrived bus. Spraying to disinfect each seat over and over again, the driver said, "This is my responsibility for passengers and public transport safety."

Qing, also a member of the Communist Party of China, expressed, "I've been a party member for 20 years. Taking the initiative amid the epidemic outbreak means the awareness and obligation of an old party member." During the Spring Festival, he has worked half an hour earlier than usual for the prevention and control, though the number of passengers is much lesser than usual. Driver Qing hopes that the epidemic will end soon, and streets will be hustling and bustling again.

It was reported that during the Spring Festival holiday this year, a total of more than 5,700 bus drivers in Nan'an District has remained on duty to ensure the safe and stable operation of public transportation.
