Chongqing - From 0:00 to 24:00 of the local time on February 19, Chongqing had reported 281 confirmed cases currently hospitalized (32 in severe condition and 13 in critical condition), five deaths, and 279 discharged patients after recovery, according to the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission. All those cases had totaled 560 confirmed cases infected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of the end of Monday in Chongqing.

A total of 22,700 people who had close contacts with COVID-19 patients have been traced, 20,385 people have been released from medical observation, and 2,315 people are under medical observation.

13th medical team headed to Hubei Province

The thirteenth Chongqing municipal medical team of 241 members, 80 doctors, and 160 nurses departed on Thursday to support Hubei Province. This is the fifth time that Chongqing Airlines has carried out a charter mission, and this time is also transported the most medical staff. As of now, a total of thirteen medical teams and 1,205 medical members, military staff excluded, have arrived in Hubei, among which 584 staff is in Xiaogan, Hubei Province.

The negative result of the child, born by the first COVID-19 confirmed expectant mother

On the morning of February 20, the third nucleic acid test (NAT) result of the first Chongqing's COVID-19 confirmed expectant mother's child, was negative. Up to now, the child has been negative for three consecutive NAT. Prior to birth, the parents were confirmed with COVID-19 and received treatment in isolation.

The child was born on February 11 and had to be quarantined for 14 days, which means the baby should take one more NAT. If the result of the last NAT is negative, and there are no other symptoms appear, the baby can meet the discharge standard.

Chongqing implements hierarchical and partition control of the epidemic

On February 19, the epidemic prevention and control team issued the notice about the hierarchical and partition control for the city. It means Chongqing will implement different prevention and control measures according to the epidemic situations in different regions.

Low-risk area:  There are no confirmed cases in this area or no new confirmed cases for 14 consecutive days.

• Nanchuan District, Chengkou County, Pengshui County, Qianjiang District, Wulong District, and Xiushan County

Medium-risk area: There are new confirmed cases within 14 days in this area, but the cumulative confirmed cases did not exceed 50, or the cumulative confirmed cases exceeded 50, and no clustering outbreaks occurred within 14 days.

• Bishan District, Jiangjin District, Fuling District, Wansheng Economic & Technological Development Zone, Liangping District, Youyang County, Tongliang District, Rongchang District, Yongchuan District, Kaizhou District, Wuxi County, Shizhu County, Chongqing High-Tech Zone, Wushan County, Liangjiang New Area, Fengdu County, Zhong County, Dazu District, Yunyang County, Dianjiang County, Changshou District, Fengjie County, Qijiang District, Hechuan District, Tongnan District, and Chongqing Economic & Technological Development Zone

High-risk area: Accumulated cases exceeds more than 50 confirmed cases in this area, with clustering outbreaks occurring within 14 days

• The nine districts of urban Chongqing (except Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing High-Tech Zone, and Chongqing Economic & Technological Development Zone) and Wanzhou District

Chongqing will implement different prevention and control measures according to the epidemic situations in different regions

All areas should control the spread of COVID-19 inside the area and prevent newly confirmed cases from other areas. However, for high-risk areas, they should also prevent and control confirmed cases to infect the epidemic to other areas.

Meanwhile, different levels of areas take different measures to resume work and production. For low-risk areas, production and living order should be fully restored. For medium-risk areas, production and living order should be restored as soon and possible while which should be restored step by step in high-risk areas.

Liangjiang New District, Chongqing High-Tech Zone, and Chongqing Economic & Technological Development Zone were regarded as separate areas for partition control. Those three areas or zones issued their own prevention and control plans according to their jurisdictions, industrial parks, and residential areas.
