Chongqing - As of 24:00 local time on March 16, Chongqing had reported no confirmed cases currently hospitalized, no severe case or critical case, six deaths, and 570 discharged patients after recovery, according to the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission Tuesday. All those cases had totaled 576 confirmed cases infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of the end of Monday in Chongqing.
Monday had no newly established case in Chongqing for the 21st consecutive day. A total of 23,745 people who had close contacts with COVID-19 patients have been traced, 23,651 people have been released from medical observation, and 94 people are under medical observation.

All coming or returning to Chongqing from overseas shall pay their own expense for all board, lodging, and transportation expenses incurred by. With regard to testing and medical expenses, those who participate in basic medical insurance or purchase commercial insurance shall report or settle claims in accordance with relevant regulations; those who do not participate in basic medical insurance shall be responsible for their own expenses; those with special difficulties shall be assisted in accordance with relevant regulations. Moreover, international arrivals must truthfully report their health status and travel history.
At the regular press conference on March 16, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang said, “Recently WHO has declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Against this backdrop, importation of cases from overseas has become a major risk for many localities in China.” “In light of local needs for epidemic response and the spread outside China, sub-national authorities have taken some inspection, quarantine, prevention and control measures on international arrivals in accordance with laws and regulations,” he added, “By doing so, they are not just cementing the epidemic response at home, but also effectively cutting the cross-border transmission of the virus. They are being responsible for the safety and health of both Chinese and foreign nationals.”

A total of 88 patients in Hong Kong, 10 in Macao and 22 in Taiwan had been discharged from hospital after recovery.
The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation donate supplies to Italy.
The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation have announced donations, including 20,000 testing kits, 100,000 masks and 1,000 protective suits each, to every one of the 54 African nations. In total, 1.1 million testing kits, 6 million masks, and 60,000 protective suits will be delivered to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali of Ethiopia will take the lead in managing the logistics and onward distribution of the supplies across the African countries. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude on Twitter, saying, "Great appreciation to Jack Ma for partnering with Ethiopia to distribute 10-20k corona testing kits per county."
This donation to African nations is the latest in a series of initiatives from the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation to support areas of the world most affected by the current pandemic, recipient countries include, among others: Japan, South Korea, United States, Italy, Spain, and Belgium.
In addition to the donations, the Foundations also announced plans to work with medical institutions in Africa to provide online training material for COVID-19 clinical treatment.
