At Tuesday's regular press conference, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said, "China's fight against COVID-19 isn't over yet. We are under heavy pressure to guard against imported cases and a rebound in indigenous cases." She added, "It is the government's top priority to prevent and control the epidemic at home and safeguard people's health. Ensuring the health of 1.4 billion Chinese people is in itself a great contribution to global public health security."
Statistics showed that the Chinese government has provided 120 countries and four international organizations with surgical masks, N95 respirators, protective suits, nucleic acid test kits, ventilators, and other assistance. Moreover, local governments donated medical items to their sister cities in more than 50 countries. Chinese companies made donations to over 100 countries and international organizations.

Xinhua reported that China has taken new measures to ensure the quality of medical supplies exports amid the global fight against COVID-19. Starting Wednesday, exporters of medical products including COVID-19 testing kits, medical face masks, medical protective suits, ventilators, and infrared thermometers need to provide extra documentation when they go through customs clearance, according to the commerce ministry.
The Chinese mainland reported 36 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, according to the National Health Commission (NHC) April 1. And 35 of them were imported cases, bringing the total number of its kind to 806. The overall confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 81,554 by the end of Tuesday, including 2,004 patients who were still being treated, altogether 76,238 patients who had been discharged after recovery, and 3,312 people who died of the disease. By Tuesday, 714 confirmed cases including four deaths had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), 41 confirmed cases in the Macao SAR, and 322 in Taiwan including five deaths. A total of 128 patients in Hong Kong, ten in Macao and 39 in Taiwan had been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
There were 750,890 confirmed cases (57,610 new) globally, and 36,405 people (3,301 new) have lost their lives by 10:00 CET March 31, according to the daily COVID-19 situation report released by the World Health Organization (WHO). No new countries/territories/areas reported cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
