At 10 AM on June 9, the rollout ceremony of the first made-in-Chongqing domestic computer was held in Nan'an District. That marks the official operation of the Domestically-made Computer Chongqing Manufacturing Base of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), as well as a new level Chongqing has achieved in the field of domestic independent information technology.

The first batch of domestically-made computers, "Tianyue" series, includes four models, namely, three desktops and one server. The three desktops can be applied to all office scenes to realize daily office work, network management, and other functions. The biggest eye-catcher of the computers is that all of their hardware and software, from the processor, the motherboard to the operating system, are domestically designed, manufactured, and assembled.

"Tianyue" was manufactured in the Domestically-made Computer Chongqing Manufacturing Base of CASIC, an intelligent manufacturing base for domestically-made computers jointly built by the 706 Institute of the Second Academy of CASIC and Southwest Computer Co., Ltd. affiliated to Chongqing Machinery & Electronics Holding (Group) Co., Ltd. (CME). Equipped with the manufacturing execution system (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, the base is a modern production line integrating automation, intelligence, flexibility, and transparency.

In the next step, the Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission will build the whole industrial chain of domestically-made computers that integrates design, manufacturing, application, processor, motherboard, and operating system development and software adaptation. In addition, the commission will seize opportunities brought by the development of the information industry, coordinately build a product system that meets the requirements of the next-generation information technology, further develop Chongqing's intelligent terminal industrial cluster, and realize double cycle and mutual promotion both domestically and internationally; focusing on the construction of the national digital economy innovation and development pilot zone. Moreover, it will accelerate digital industrialization and industrial digitization, so as to build itself into an important city of smart manufacturing and a place renowned for the smart industry.
