Cultural and Creative Parks in Chongqing Style is Popular among Tourists

By YULING CHEN|Aug 10,2020

With the coming of summer vacation, Chongqing's characteristic cultural and creative parks, including Beicang Cultural and Creative Block, Testbed 2, and Jinshan Yiku Cultural and Creative Park, are top-rated among tourists. Visitors take photos, sample local delicious food, and buy exquisite cultural and creative products when visiting these parks.

Tourists at Beicang Cultural and Creative Block

Beicang Cultural and Creative Block, located between Beicheng Tianjie (Longfor Paradise Walk) and 9th Street of Guanyinqiao Business Circle, is quiet in the midst of urban chaos, which makes people feel refreshing. At 11 a.m., under the scorching sun, some of the visitors here were enjoying the shade under white fig-trees, some taking photos in front of the graffiti wall, and some reading books and buying cultural and creative products in Beicang Library. Wang Ruidi, a 20-year-old tourist from Changsha, Hunan Province, loves cultural and creative products with Chongqing elements and picked up eight brooches and fridge magnets after a few minutes. "I'll give them to my roommates when the new semester starts," said Wang.

Testbed 2 is one of the shooting places of the film I Belonged to You, hence a popular tourist destination for young people who love culture and arts. Around noon, despite the scorching sun, some visitors here were still appreciating the river view and taking pictures in front of historic buildings.

In Jinshan Yiku Cultural and Creative Park, exhibitions such as the 2020 Invitational Exhibition on Outstanding Works of Graduates from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute are being held. Visitors can not only appreciate art here but also sit down and sip a cup of coffee, as well as visit bookstores. Although it's sizzling outside, the environment of the indoor exhibition and leisure space is very comfortable, which makes people linger on.

The parks remind visitors to be braced for the hot weather. It is better to hold a parasol or wear a hat when walking outside.
