Chongqing- As research and development into autonomous vehicles progresses at a swift pace, the level of technical sophistication at Chang'an Automobiles in Chongqing has attained levels L3 and L4.

In June 2019, they were the first brand in China to demonstrate the commercial use of level L4 self-driving technology on public roads, which took place in the Xiantao Data Valley area of Chongqing.

While the day this technology becomes available on the market ultimately depends on legislation and approval from the government authorities, the latest capabilities of autonomous driving are tested within the private road network of the Global Research Centre of Chang'an Automobile in Chongqing.
