Three enterprises in Dazu District Chongqing have posted an output value of two billion yuan (about USD 302 million) from January to September, including Chongqing Zuhang Iron & Steel, Chongqing Shengtai Optoelectronics, and Chongqing Heavy Vehicle Group Special Purpose Vehicle.

Shengtai Optoelectronics has decided to locate its headquarters in Dazu District, and the construction is already in progress. At the current rate, it is expected to achieve an output value of three billion yuan for the whole year, with its camera module business ranking fourth in the industry nationwide and eighth worldwide.

Looking across China, Shengtai's camera module is in a leading position, with many domestically pioneering technologies incorporated in. Its output value is projected to exceed 10 billion yuan in the coming two or three years, generating 200 million yuan in tax revenue annually.

"There are three enterprises (of Shengtai Optoelectronics) in the production chain that have followed us to Dazu District," said Shaojie Lu, Deputy General Manager of Shengtai." When we realize an output value of 10 billion yuan, we think we can drive them to achieve an output value of two billion yuan."

According to Lu, Shengtai Optoelectronics specializes in dual-camera, multi-camera, 3D, AI, vehicle-mounted ADAS, and other high-end camera products. Now, it can manufacture 48 megapixel and 64-megapixel cameras on a large scale and will be able to produce 100-megapixel cameras on a large scale next year.

The company has to get started with pre-listing tutoring and strives to complete Main Board Listing by the end of 2022.

Another enterprise that has decided to settle in Dazu District is TAILG Motorcycle, and the agreement was already signed. Now, Dazu District has launched a new project that will foster another multi-ten-billion enterprise for the district once completed.

With a total investment of two billion yuan, the project will build a new energy electric vehicle industrial park in Dazu High-tech Zone. When the designed production capabilities are realized in full, the project can produce two million new energy vehicles, achieving an output value of 11 billion yuan and creating more than 3,500 job opportunities annually.

In addition, a number of enterprises that support the development of TAILG Motorcycle are also in negotiation with Dazu District.

According to the latest data released by Dazu District Statistics Bureau on November 1, Dazu District achieved a GDP of 48.71 billion yuan, up 3.4% year on year, a growth rate 2.7 percentage points higher than the national level and 0.8 percentage points higher than the municipal level In the first three quarters this year.

Behind this decent result is a trend chart that follows an ascending curve: Dazu District's GDP grew by only 0.3% in the first half of 2020, lower than the city's average, while rose to 18.4 billion yuan in the third quarter with a growth rate of 8.9%, four percentage points higher than the national level.

It is interesting to know that Chongqing's four characteristic industries above designated size achieved a total industrial output value of 42.25 billion yuan, up 16.6%, and accounting for 93.1% of the total. These four industries are hardware, automobile and motorcycle, venous industry, and intelligence.
