The 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) officially opened on the night of November 4, offering a glimmer of hope to the bleak world economy in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Exhibitors include Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders. The average exhibition area increases by 14% compared to the second edition.
China contributes to the global market with intelligence and solutions while opening its market to global enterprises, helping them address challenges and grow. During the CIIE, exhibitors look forward to grabbing opportunities and sharing the fruits of China's economic growth.
It's also proved to be a chance for Chongqing, which organized 2,412 people from 820 units to participate in this event. Through using the platform of CIIE, Chongqing would be able to connect with world-class companies and technologies, reaching new partnerships in a promising environment, opening up to the world based on cooperation opportunities, and applying smart devices and scenarios to development.
This year's CIIE becomes a perfect channel for Chongqing to present itself. It can further be woven into the Dual Circulation. With the strategic development action driven by innovation and big data and smart technology, Chongqing catalyzes its industrial structure's transformation and upgrading.
Recently, the new energy- and smart connectivity-oriented development is in full swing in the automobile industry. The electronic information industry embraces the rising entire industrial chain, covering chips, LCD panels, intelligent terminals, core components, Internet of Things (IoT), and a cluster of factors, ranging from cloud, network, big data, and cloud computing to application.
Through participating in the three sessions of CIIE, Chongqing has enhanced its connection with Shanghai and other cities along the Yangtze River. Inspired by this, the city might integrate its channels, ports, and platforms with corresponding systems in those cities to perfect the mechanisms and frameworks of inland opening up.
Chongqing, after years of development, has established an opening up platform and key opening up hubs. The former has the Liangjiang New Area, China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity as the focus; the latter includes the Guoyuan Port.
Specifically, its creative multi-modal transportation system, such as China Railway Express (Yuxinou), New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Yangtze River Golden Waterway, and Jiangbei International Airport, has profoundly changed the role of Western China in the global supply chain and logistics network.
This made Chongqing a strategic center and international logistics corridor, which connects coastal markets in China and Europe, Central Asia, and ASEAN countries.
