Chongqing- Zhong Jie, a railway lady in Chongqing Section of China Railway Chengdu Group Co., Ltd. There are 11 members among three generations in her family who work for railway, including her. However, different from others, Zhong Jie is a photographing lover, from mobile phone to camera, from casually to intentionally. She has taken more than 30,000 photos to record the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway's warm stories and witness the railway changes.
It can be said that she has two pairs of eyes – one of herself and another is the camera. In her lens, there are long-distance couples from Chengdu and Chongqing, hugging each other. There are other railway ladies, smiling and serving passengers. Also, passengers are sitting in the carriage quietly and peacefully.
Zhong Jie gets inspired by Wang Fuchun, another photographer whose lens has never left the rushing train on the rails and the people in the carriages. Meanwhile, Wang’s works witness the railway development from China's reform and opening up until now. Therefore, an idea came to her mind – to take photos of changes on the train.
Due to work reasons, Zhong Jie spends over 12 hours a week on the train. There are always different stories from south to north, sunrise to moonrise, and different passengers' routes. According to her, the high-speed railway from Chongqing to Chengdu has become one of the busiest high-speed railways in China, while other railways include Beijing to Tianjin, Shanghai to Nanjing, and Guangzhou to Shenzhen.
In the past, Zhong Jie used her mobile phone to take photos casually. Until recently, she got her new baby, a mirrorless camera, therefore, recording more than 30,000 photos in her camera quickly. Her images are mostly ordinary details, usually easily overlooked moments in daily life, which is the train's unique scenery. She said that is the most authentic memory.
