On November 13, 130 participants in domestic and abroad gathered in Nan'an District of Chongqing to compete on hot pot practice skills. The Hot Pot Skill Competition has been held for three consecutive years since its settlement in 2018 in Chongqing.

Overseas participants

In recent years, thanks to its increasing popularity domestically and overseas, hot pot has become a career option for many foreigners. At this competition, participants were from 15 domestic provinces and cities including Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Guangdong, Hunan, and Jiangsu. There were also 30 foreign participants from 11 countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Chile, and Bangladesh.

Domestic participants

Clear broth making was included in the competition for the first time. This competition was divided into three parts including spicy base making, special clear broth making, and creative sauce making. Each part was a big test for participants' skills.

Cited by ahead of the Organizing Committee of the competition, "Chongqing, billed as the city of hot pot, enjoys undoubted advantages to host the competition." Since its settlement in 2018, the competition has promoted the cultivation of hot pot professionals, enhanced the popularity of Chongqing hot pot, and boosted the development of the industrial chain.
