Chongqing saw the closing of the 18th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) and the 20th Western China (Chongqing) International Agricultural Products Fair (CCIAPF) on November 30.

The transaction amount reached 41.8 billion yuan (about 6.37 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 9.8% over last year.

This session of CATF deepened market-oriented reform, focused on poverty alleviation by developing industries, increased agricultural brand marketing, and achieved positive results.

The scale of the exhibition exceeded 200,000 square meters for the first time, with more than 14,000 exhibitors, more than 40,000 professional buyers, and over 80,000 exhibited products.

Additionally, online and offline trading was active, attracting more than 300 large leading enterprises such as COFCO, China Mobile, Syngenta Group China, Beijing Capital Agribusiness Group, Beidahuang Group, and Hengxing Enterprise Group, which was three times the number of the previous year.

Besides, many live streaming events were held jointly with Alibaba Group, Douyin, WeChat, Kuaishou, China Release of Three Rural Issues, and other platforms, attracting 300,000 visitors offline and 50 million online, with the amount of sales of leading online anchors topping 100 million yuan.

During the event, 13 major activities were staged, including a forum on sustainable development of specific industries in regions that have shaken off poverty, a digital countryside development forum, and a forum on agricultural investment risks and social capital to support "three rural issues".

Moreover, 53 concurrent events were held, such as live streaming for assisting farmers and the promotion of numerous products from thousands of enterprises, building a platform for exchanges and cooperation.

In terms of trade results, a total of 87 related activities were organized, including special sessions for buyers, business meetings for "big buyers", promotion of high-quality agricultural products, investment and financing meetings, signing ceremonies, etc.

The amount of contracts signed for major supply and demand cooperation exceeded 110 billion yuan, and 52 major projects for rural revitalization were signed at CCIAPF, in total of 33.8 billion yuan.

The most popular agricultural products, most influential brands, excellent exhibitors, excellent buyers, best organizations, and best support units were released at the concluding conference of CATF, and it was announced that the 19th CATF will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province in 2021.
