Beibei District of Chongqing completed a total of 49 projects collectively signed, started, and completed, covering various fields such as strategic emerging industries, infrastructure, leisure tourism, and public services, with a total investment of 28 billion yuan (about 4.27 billion U.S. dollars ), on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the establishment of China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

Beibei also welcomed 11 new enterprises involving outsourcing platform for comprehensive enterprise service, glass, electronic information, instrument, mechatronics, energy, commerce and trade, and other fields, and has introduced major projects such as southwest headquarters base of Atjubo.com, prefabricated building industrial base of Broad Homes, and cooperation with China National Aviation Fuel Group.

As of March 1, 2021, Beibei had seen 3,469 registered enterprises, with a registered amount of 22.72 billion yuan.

An official from the Beibei Area of the pilot FTZ said that Beibei would combine its own reality to promote continuous innovation, respond to the needs of enterprises, and build an international business-friendly environment with the rule of law, seeking to build Beibei Area into a demonstration area featuring facilitation in investment and trade, gathering of new industries, efficient and convenient supervision, the rule of law, and outstanding stimulating effect.

In order to build an international business-friendly environment with the rule of law, Beibei has set up an international legal service center to provide legal consultancy services on international economics and trade for enterprises in the Beibei Area of the pilot FTZ by organizing online and offline seminars on legal topics and training sessions on trade regulations.

In terms of reform in business registration, Beibei has adopted new approaches such as the separation of the place of registration and that of business, trial implementation of declaration commitment system in the place of business, the whole-process paperless registration, completion of business registration within one working day, assistance for business registration, agent service in business registration, guidance in business registration, and paperless export rebates procedure. All of them are aimed at creating a more efficient and convenient environment for handling affairs.

An in-depth industrial plan for cultural trade and sci-tech innovation industries has been completed for Beibei Area. A number of advantageous enterprises focus on industries that are mainly encouraged by the government and on niche markets, with strong innovation capability and high market share, have been cultivated. Beibei Area decides its industries by virtue of the plan while actively connecting with other FTZs to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, striving to open up new foreign economic and trade cooperation fields.
