Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport opened two regular freight routes recently, including Chongqing-Nantong-Tokyo and Chongqing-Dhaka, bringing the city's total international (regional) freight routes to 105.

Specifically, Chongqing-Nantong-Tokyo offers services every Thursday and Sunday, and Chongqing-Dhaka offers services every Tuesday and Saturday.

The two regular cargo air routes have widened the channels for Chongqing to cooperate and establish business ties with foreign countries.

As another pair of freight routes opened together in this airport this year, following the ones connecting Chongqing with Brussels in Belgium and Bangalore in India, they effectively boost the transport capacity between Chongqing and cities in and around Japan and Bangladesh. More importantly, they serve as a practical move to build a regional international aviation network covering East Asia and South Asia.

Chongqing-Nantong-Tokyo freight route mainly carries laptop-related products to satisfy the demands of such enterprises in the pan-semiconductor industry as BOE Technology Group, HKC, and Texas Instruments for import of core spare parts and export of laptops. It is conducive to ensure a stable industrial chain and supply chain.

Chongqing-Dhaka freight route mainly serves the import/export of clothes, piece goods, and machine parts. It is expected to help improve the air logistics quality and production and service efficiency of enterprises engaging in foreign trade, cross-border e-commerce, and production and manufacturing in southwest China.

In the first three months, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport sent off 1,476 all-cargo flights, a year-on-year growth of 249.8%, and 387 freighters. The cargo throughput totaled 114,800 tons, up 48.06% from the previous year, of which international (regional) cargo throughput reached 44,412 tons, a year-on-year increase of 56.46%.
