Chongqing- Southwest China's Chongqing  Municipality will strive for the city's total industrial output value to exceed 3 trillion yuan (about USD 463.5 billion) by 2025, including the electronic information industry to reach a trillion, according to a local press conference on April 29.

Important advanced manufacturing center

Chongqing has recently issued opinions on further promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry and accelerating the construction of a national important advanced manufacturing center.

Chongqing is designed to build China's import advanced manufacturing center and cultivate advanced manufacturing clusters with international competitiveness. Specifically, the municipality endeavors to cultivate three world-class advanced manufacturing clusters of electronic information, automobile, and equipment manufacturing, and build advanced manufacturing clusters with international competitiveness such as materials and specialty consumer goods. Moreover, it aims to build a number of strategic emerging industrial clusters with national influence in the fields of new-generation information technology, new-energy, and intelligent-connected vehicles, and high-end equipment, etc.

Chongqing will also deepen the integration of digital economy and manufacturing, modern service industry and manufacturing, accelerate the development of intelligent manufacturing, service-oriented manufacturing and industrial Internet, and promote the development of traditional manufacturing to advanced manufacturing.

Chongqing has also issued measures to support the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.

It clarifies the positioning, direction, and tasks of the current and future period of high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in Chongqing. It has eight parts and 25 articles, with three features. First, highlight the cultivation of advanced manufacturing clusters. Second, more prominent industrial integration development. Third, highlighting the quality and efficiency improvement.

It proposed 23 targeted policy measures, focusing on the following five aspects in encouraging innovation of development, promoting the transformation of development, cultivating high-quality enterprises, reducing enterprise costs and strengthening the protection of elements and talents.

Chen said that the 14th Five-Year Plan is a key period for Chongqing's manufacturing industry development. It is essential to find new opportunities and enhance the confidence of development.
