Chongqing will further strengthen its role as the operation organization center, promote cooperation with provinces and regions along the route in a list-based and item-based manner, optimize the train dispatch system, and enhance its ability of international logistics organizations.

"To expand channel operation limited companies and regional companies, Chongqing strives to attract another one or two provinces and regions as a way of increasing the platform scale," said Ba Chuanjiang, Director of the Port and Logistics Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government. "We expect to increase both the annual trains and the cargo value of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) by 15%,"

This year, China Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing) to Europe will work hard to expand the transport network. Specifically, one to two routes and one to two overseas nodes will be newly added.

Specifically, Tuanjie Village Railway Central Station will be rebuilt for capacity expansion, and Yuzui Railway Freight Station's service frequency will be increased.

Constant efforts will also be made to build a collection center for China Railway Express trains, aiming to increase the annual number of trains from Chengdu to Chongqing to 4,000 this year.

Meanwhile, Chongqing will drive the construction of the smart Yangtze River logistics project so that vessels can pass the Three Gorges in an efficient and orderly way. Chongqing will also promote the construction of 130-meter-long large standard vessels to increase the container throughput via waterway-waterway transit by over 10%.

Besides, Through strengthening cooperation with the Port of Shanghai, the Port of Taicang, the Port of Nanjing, and the Port of Jingjiang, Chongqing aims to develop direct routes for bulk and miscellaneous goods, roll-on and roll-off goods, and hazardous chemicals.

On the capacity expansion project for Yuman'e (Chongqing-Manzhouli-Russia) international railway logistics channel, Chongqing will restructure the supply of goods by appropriately scaling down timber products.

Chongqing will also actively integrate itself into local industries by exploring the establishment of a Russian distribution center. Meanwhile, Chongqing will resume the international passenger air routes suspended due to COVID-19.

Specifically, the city will offer more hub air routes for freight transport bound for Europe and North America and strengthen weak sectors such as South Asia, Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea, with a goal to increase the throughput of international air cargo and mail by more than 5%.

Speeding up establishing a cross-border highway logistics channel system involves increasing the service frequency bound for Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries.

Furthermore, Chongqing will also play a deeper role in advancing Lancang-Mekong cooperation. It strives to complete the trial operation for convenient transportation under the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation.
