2021 Yangtze River Art Week Kicks Off, Polish New Name Cards of Chongqing

On April 30, the 2021 Yangtze River Art Week was launched at Jiulongtan Square. The event tries to interpret life aesthetics in the form of "Art+," polish new name cards of Chongqing, inherit the Yangtze River culture, and boost the Yangtze River Culture and Arts Bay Area construction.

The 2021 Yangtze River Art Week is guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, People's Government of Jiulongpo District, People's Government of Dadukou District, Southwest University, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI), and Chongqing Daily News Group; co-sponsored by the Institute for Culture Creativity of Tsinghua University, Boma Global, Boao Culture and Creativity Institute, SCFAI-Creativity Valley, and Chongqing Jiulong Peninsula Development and Construction Co., Ltd.; undertaken by the SMART Integrated Resorts Industry Platform and Chongqing Huyouta Cultural Promotion Co., Ltd.

Liu Xiaoqiang, Deputy Secretary of CPC Jiulongpo District Committee and Mayor of People's Government of Jiulongpo District, and Zhang Guozhi, Deputy Secretary of CPC Dadukou District Committee and Mayor of People's Government of Dadukou District addressed the opening ceremony, saying the two districts would like to promote Jiulong Art Culture Peninsula and Diaoyuzui Peninsula, while co-building the Yangtze River Culture and Arts Bay Area and the Southern Cultural City.

Liu Binjie recorded a video to congratulate the 2021 Yangtze River Art Week opening and holding "Art+" theme summits and co-creation activities. He is the former Chairperson of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, former Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group, and Director of the General Administration of Press and Publication, Dean of School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University, and President of the Institute for Culture Creativity of Tsinghua University.

After the brief opening ceremony, several renowned experts and professors from China and foreign countries made keynote speeches. They included Wei Pengju, Director of the Institute of Cultural Economics at the Central University of Finance and Economics, Aric Chen, first curatorial director of the Design Miami, Jiao Xingtao, SCFAI Vice President, Tony Brown, a tenured professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris and former Academic Director of Parsons Paris, and Wang Xu, Chairman of the AIM Design Competition Organizing Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of Institute for Culture Creativity of Tsinghua University.

This Art Week activity, with the theme of "Art+," was staged in the main venue of Jiulongtan Square. In addition to the opening ceremony on April 30, a series of theme summits and 100 co-creation activities continued through May 5, constituting a cross-border diversified experience carnival. The organizer also announced the simultaneous launch of the "Traveling to Jiulongpo District for Cultural Relics and Museums" consumption season activity, and 99,000 cultural tourism consumption coupons were issued on the Meituan platform. Residents and tourists could use the coupon at cultural tourism sites in Jiulongpo District, making the May Day holiday a more pleasant experience.
