SW China grows fast in the health care industry

"As you probably know that the western part of China grows very fast in terms of the healthcare industry," said Chan. Therefore, he thinks Chongqing can be a potential city for the company's market expansion and a platform to penetrate their business into the western part of China.

Chan finds out there are plenty of top university hospitals, including the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, which attaches great importance to the balanced development of medical care, teaching, scientific research, and preventive health care.

The integration of healthcare and technology in Chongqing facilitates exchanges and mutual learning in scientific and technological management, which realizes the sharing of innovation platforms and resource libraries among medical and health organizations and research units. 

"By attending the 2021 Asia Enterprise of Tomorrow Conference, I hope we can have a fair understanding of the supporting structure of the business environment at Chongqing, including government policies in the healthcare industry," said Chan.

The 3rd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) will set up a comprehensive health care services exhibition hall for the first time and focus on displays of cutting-edge products, technologies, and achievements in the field, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce Monday.

Chongqing to build a smart medical care system by 2022

China is the second-largest medical device market in the world, following the United States. The market will continue to grow because the Chinese government is focused on improving healthcare access and outcomes by embracing technological innovation.

According to the Chongqing Health Commission last August, Chongqing will comprehensively build a basic system of smart medical care by 2022. Besides, the city aims to create a demonstration city of smart medical applications and an intelligent medical-industrial base leading in China.

Mei Zhengcheng from the Chongqing Health Commission introduced that by 2021, Chongqing will basically complete the establishment of the “health cloud” and a big data service platform for public health, complete the construction of a key business information system, promote and apply intelligent health management, and preliminarily form the smart medical industry system.

By 2022, the basic system of smart medical care will be fully established, big data of health care will be comprehensively pooled and standardized, the system of health information resources and the sharing and opening mechanism will be established, and a demonstration city of smart medical application and an intelligent medical-industrial base leading in China will be erected.
