Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Global Investment Promotion Conference kicked off in Shanghai recently, which was the first government cooperation on global business investment between the two regions.

In the conference, Chengdu and Chongqing jointly promoted six industries' investment opportunities to the world,  electronic information, medicine and health, food and healthcare, automobiles, equipment manufacturing, as well as new materials. All of them serve as the major industries and pillars of the economy between the two regions.

Attendees include more than 110 domestic and foreign renowned enterprises, chambers of commerce, and institutions from 19 countries or regions such as the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Through the promotion conference, the world will see that the efforts made by Sichuan and Chongqing, where the acceleration of the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle is highly consistent with the country's strategic planning.

Last January, the sixth meeting of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs stressed that to promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, it is necessary to firmly establish the concept of integrated development and achieve unified planning, integrated deployment, mutual collaboration, and joint implementation.

On the Third Session of Chongqing-Sichuan Party and Government Joint Meeting for Promoting Construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle convened this May, the two governments further reached a consensus on regional coordination, industrial collaboration, joint construction of infrastructure, cooperation on technology innovation, a joint governance of ecological environment and sharing of public services.

Furthermore, the governments between the two regions repeatedly emphasized the concept of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, which also delivers to the world an important signal that the two sides are making efforts to break administrative barriers and realize collaborative cooperation on the business invitation.

This is also how the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have achieved integrated development.
