To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), like other cities in China, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development, together with the Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, announced serial cultural activities on the theme in the city.

The Commission formulated the Plan of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development for Serial Cultural Activities to Celebrate the Centenary of the CPC. In five respects, namely major performances, broadcasts, major exhibitions, theme contests, and special theme cultural tourism, more than 20 activities cover theatrical performances, broadcast of television and network audio-visual programs, fine arts exhibitions, special literature exhibitions, cultural relics displays, reciting contest, reading contest, docent contest, as well as the release of premium red tourism routes and revolutionary cultural relics lists.

A series of mass performances 

In June, the city sees a series of public events like group singing and dancing on the squares, reciting contests. On the morning of June 25, the 10,000 people singing together at the Great Hall of the People. On the evening of the same day, performances were staged by the shortlisted excellent teams from districts and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. The final of the 2021 Chongqing square dance show will be held in Fuling District on June 30. The 2021 Chongqing reading contest Hongyan Juvenile will also be carried out successively.

The city will promote a number of performances and TV drama series. Always Follow the Party－Centenary Theatrical Performance Evening Gala will be aired on Chongqing TV Station.The documentary I Love Made in China, as well as the TV dramas such as On the Mountain of Tai Hang, A Land So Rich In Beauty, Founding Father Zhu De, National Heroes, The Liberation of Southwest China, Blood Out, and Mao Zedong and His Brothers.

The exhibitions in June include 100 Glorious Years· Flowers in Full Blossom - the 8th Chongqing Fine Arts Exhibition to Celebrate the Centenary of the CPC, the 20th Chongqing Joint Exhibition of Fine Arts, Calligraphy and Photography to Celebrate the Centenary of the CPC, Sichuan-Chongqing Special Red Literature Exhibition to Commemorate the Centenary of the CPC, Chongqing Poverty Alleviation Exhibition, Original Aspiration, Mission and Struggle - Exhibition of the 100-year Glorious Course of the CPC in Chongqing.
