Since moving to Banan District in October 2013, JD.com, Inc., as a leading e-commerce enterprise in China, has been continuously promoting the development of the modern service industry and the emerging service industry and made a significant contribution to optimizing industrial structure, upgrading traditional commerce industries, improving the overall level of the service industry and promoting economic growth in the district. The first phase of the project covers a land area of about 323,333 square meters and a total construction area of about 200,000 square meters. The total investment is about 3 billion yuan (about 462.7 million U.S. dollars), the annual target output value is about 50 billion yuan, and the annual expected tax revenue is about 700 million yuan. It is planned to build an e-commerce management, operation, technology, and settlement center, an order generation center, and the Asia No.1 operation center.

Now, the service radius of Chongqing JD E-commerce Industrial Park Project has expanded from Banan District to the southwest region of China. The annual order volume is 90 million, the annual parcel volume is about 130 million, and its annual output value accounts for about 25% of the network retails of the legal persons above the limit in Chongqing and about 28% of the district's commerce and trade industry. In 2014, through the extension of the industrial chain, JD Global Settlement Center was settled in Banan District, and its output value accounts for about 90% of the service industry above the limit in the district. In recent years, Banan District and JD.com, Inc. have continued to deepen cooperation in logistics distribution, cross-border e-commerce, commercial services, smart retail, urban express, JD Fresh, JD unmanned stores, and other businesses, which have been implemented one after another and developed rapidly. By December 2020, the cumulative turnover of JD-backed business projects reached about 192,543 million yuan, and the cumulative tax revenue was about 2,874 million yuan. In 2020, the turnover amounted to about 48.5 billion yuan, and the tax payment was about 1.1 billion yuan, accounting for about 10% of the total tax revenue of Banan District in the year. More than 3,000 jobs were provided for residents in the district.
