Chongqing Culture and Tourism Big Data Launch Event Held during SCE2021

Smart China Expo 2021 (SCE2021) was inaugurated on August 23 at Chongqing International Expo Center. Under the theme of Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life, the event integrated online and offline channels, got deeply involved in international cooperation around the digital economy, focused on digital industrialization and industrial digitization, firmly promoted innovation in big data intelligence, and continued expanding external communication and cooperation.

On the afternoon of August 23, Chongqing Culture and Tourism Big Data Launch event was held during the SCE2021.

He Qiongfeng, Director of the Institute of Data Analysis of China Tourism Academy (CTA), Liu Xuefeng, Director of Chongqing Culture and Tourism Data Center, Wang Tongmin, Deputy General Manager of Government and Enterprise Customer Division of China Mobile Communications Group Chongqing Co., Ltd., and Zhang Yingdong, Deputy General Manager of Meituan Culture and Tourism Government-Enterprise Cooperation Center respectively interpreted the Travel Property Index Report for H1 2021, Big Data Analysis Report on Rural Tourism in Southwest China, Big Data Report on Chongqing's Tourism Recovery, and Tourist Evaluation Analysis Report on Chongqing Tourism Boom.

Travel Property Index Report for H1 2021 expounded on the Travel Property Index (TPI) definition and five indicators: amount, impressions, engagement, public praise, and marketability. Through the TPI system developed by CTA and Mafengwo.com, the report released Top 20 cities in China in terms of the TPI and the rise in the ranking, Top 10 cities and scenic areas in western and southwestern China, etc., while qualitatively analyzing travel property changes of main tourist cities, scenic areas, and other travel operators in the first half of 2021.

Relying on the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle construction and collaborative development of Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor, the Big Data Analysis Report on Rural Tourism in Southwest China analyzed features of tourist projects, spatial distribution, catering and accommodation development, and industrial consumption recovery index in the post-COVID-19 era of the rural tourism market in southwestern China. Based on the China Mobile Communications Group Chongqing's Smart Big Data platform, the Big Data Report on Chongqing's Tourism Recovery summarized changes in the total number of tourists in Chongqing and respective scenic areas, travel choices of tourists under the influence of the pandemic, modes of transportation, and behavioral preferences over the past year.

This year's Tourist Evaluation Analysis Report on Chongqing Tourism Boom analyzed the areas valued and complained by tourists and offered suggestions to governments and relevant enterprises based on such complaints, by taking into account the comments of different divisions and highly mentioned words in both positive and negative comments on Meituan Dianping, which enjoys 7.7 billion users.
