On August 27, the first conference of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area & Sichuan Tianfu New Area Exhibition Industry Flagship Alliance and Inauguration Ceremony was held online.

Zhang Li, member of the Party Work Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, and Wang Tiangang, member of the Party Work Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, conferred licenses to the representatives of the alliance at the venues of their respective regions. Attendees included heads of related units in Liangjiang New Area and Tianfu New Area and business member representatives of the alliance. 

On April 29, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area and Sichuan Tianfu New Area convened the third joint conference intended to build an inland opening-up gateway and assist in constructing the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. The two sides jointly set up eight industry flagship alliances, ushering in a new chapter for common development and pragmatic cooperation as one of the eight industry flagship alliances. 

Zhang noted that this conference and inauguration ceremony are necessary for developing and conducive to achieving win-win cooperation. In the future, Liangjiang New Area and Tianfu New Area will strengthen cooperation on automobiles, electronics, digital economy, bio-medicine, smart city, and other fields, in a bid to make better use of resources, promote the in-depth consolidation of industry chains, advance the construction of major projects, build new platforms and mechanisms for cooperation and development, and develop national-level and world-class industry clusters.

Wang expressed his hope that exhibition companies in the two regions will take this opportunity to deepen coordination and labor division cooperation further and that the two regions will take advantage of Chongqing International Expo Center and Western China International Expo City to bring together another batch of high-quality exhibition companies to hold a number of exhibition activities with international influence and to gain the permanent right to host another batch of high-level world-famous exhibitions, further to enhance the alliance's core competitiveness and market influence and jointly build an international conference and exhibition highland.

The alliance will hold conferences; irregularly organize, initiate and host industry exchange activities; provide a platform for members to exchange, market, promote and offer market research; organize kinds of economic and cultural projects, as well as merchant invitation and capital introduction negotiations; provide information consultation services; participate in business negotiations, undertake economic and cultural projects entrusted by the government and provide other services. In addition, it will popularize and interpret the policy information related to the exhibition industry released by the governments in Chengdu and Chongqing; recommend and encourage local exhibition companies to hold conferences and exhibitions in Chengdu and Chongqing; guide local exhibition companies to hold conferences and exhibitions in the two cities; guide local companies to settle down and invest in each other's new area; establish a mechanism for exhibition talent exchange between the two cities; promote and strengthen cooperation on sharing supporting resources between exhibition companies in Chengdu and Chongqing.

As one of the spearheads of the alliance, Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group is tasked with the urban planning, construction, and operation management of the Yuelai International Convention and Exhibition City in Liangjiang New Area. Since the opening of Chongqing International Expo Center and Yuelai International Convention Center, more than 2,100 exhibitions have been held.

Wu Dajun, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group Co., Ltd., said that the Group would give full play to the platform function of Chongqing International Expo Center and actively promote cooperation between exhibition companies in Chengdu and Chongqing on project coordination, innovation and talent cultivation, among other fields, to hold high-standard international and domestic exhibition activities and push the permanent settlement of high-level exhibition projects in Chengdu and Chongqing.

Lan Wei, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Sichuan International Exhibition Co., Ltd., said that Chengdu and Chongqing would take the alliance as a new starting point to accelerate the cultivation and development of exhibition brands in the two regions, optimize and consolidate the advantageous resources of the two regions for coordinated development, to improve the market competency, market share and market resource sharing of exhibition companies in the two regions, jointly build a new national exhibition highland and inject new momentum into the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

Members join the alliance in membership by establishing an industry alliance system of comprehensive cooperation and labor division.
