Consulates of 14 Countries Saw Fruitful Results in China-SCO Forum and SCE 2021

On the morning of August 25, the three-day China-SCO Forum on the Digital Economy Industry and Smart China Expo (SCE) 2021 came to a successful conclusion in Chongqing. At the invitation of Chongqing Municipality, the consulates of 14 countries in Chongqing or Chengdu organized national pavilions at the Pavilion for China-SCO Digital Economy Cooperation (Hall N2) and the International Exhibition Area (Hall N1) of the SCE 2021 of Chongqing International Expo Center, displaying the cutting-edge technologies, tourism resources and cultural customs of those countries and how they boost the development of digital economy and accelerate digital transformation.

There were National pavilions, organized by the Consulates General of the 11 countries, namely, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Uruguay, Singapore, Australia, Switzerland, South Korea, Austria, Israel, at the International Exhibition Area (Hall N1) of the SCE 2021. On August 23, Zhang Yongwu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, visited the International Exhibition Area and attended the opening ceremony of the British and Austrian Pavilions. Consuls general and commercial consuls from the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Uruguay, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, Switzerland, and Austria were present at their national pavilions for promotion and media interviews.

The British Consulate-General in Chongqing and the largest British business delegation ever to visit the southwestern region of China participated in the SCE. The delegation, organized by the Department for International Trade of the UK and led by the trade envoys of the UK in China, included 48 British enterprises in information technology, infrastructure, advanced engineering, and other fields. The British Pavilion featured four sections, namely Ongoing Digital Transformation, Digital Lights up the Life, Technology Empowers Manufacturing, and Green Buildings & Innovation, showcasing the brands and vitality of the UK's technology sector. In addition, the interactive experience area brought the fun of experiencing technology to the audience.

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Chengdu participated in the SCE for the first time, together with 10 Austrian enterprises in intelligent manufacturing, intelligent logistics, intelligent culture, intelligent sports, and other industries. The participating enterprises included AT&S, the world's leading manufacturer of high-end semiconductor package substrates and high density interconnect printed circuit board; the manufacturer Rieger Orgelbau, known as the King of Instruments; s::can GmbH, who provides green intelligent online water quality monitoring devices and solutions; Doppelmayr, a ropeway supplier for Olympic Winter Games, WITTMANN BATTENFELD, the manufacturer of complete intelligent injection molding equipment; FerRobotics, the robot polishing expert with the industry's leading active compliant patent technology; COLOP Marking Solutions, which can print on a portable printer at the size of one's palm; and a manufacturer of intelligent river and lake water quality monitoring devices.

With such innovative technologies as YALP, the smart technology of Signify, and the service platform of China-Netherlands innovation port for innovation cooperation between China and the Netherlands, the Netherlands Pavilion displayed the smart industry, smart education, smart medical care, smart sports, and other cases implemented by the smart industry in the Netherlands, fully demonstrating its achievements in the smart industry. Chengdu Dao. Pure Lan Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. presented the exhibition of the Sino-Netherlands cooperation on sports innovation. Besides, H.E. Wim Geerts, Ambassador of the Netherlands to China, also recorded a congratulatory video for the expo.

The Italian Pavilion was jointly created by the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce. With Italy: Beauty of Innovation · Smart Technology Enables Italian Life as the theme, it introduced the seven Italian companies of the industrial sector in automobile, intelligent robots, industrial manufacturing, automation, semiconductor, and smart travel.

The Hungary Pavilion displayed 37 smart projects of famous Hungarian research institutions, universities, and innovative enterprises in six fields such as smart city, smart travel, smart leisure, smart sports, smart agriculture, and smart medical care. It showed Hungary's way of viewing the smart world and its connection to the global digital revolution, sustainability, and personalization trend. It's worth noting that Smart Mobility, an exhibition initiated by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, made its debut in China at the SCE, showing innovative achievements and development potential of Hungary with 22 products.

Since 2018, SCE has been held four times. Consulate generals in Chongqing and Chengdu greatly supported and actively participated in this event, adding a layer of foreign attractiveness. This year, apart from the above-mentioned 11 countries, consulate generals of Belarus and Cambodia in Chongqing and consulate general of Pakistan in Chengdu established their pavilions in China-SCO Digital Economy Cooperation Pavilion.

The Belarus Pavilion highlighted China-Belarus intergovernmental cooperation flagship projects: Great Stone Industrial Park and three high-tech digital enterprises, which are China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, Shaanxi Aerospace Power Hi-tech Co., Ltd., and Les International (MSK) Information Technology. Exhibits included Internet of Things Intelligent Gas Meter by Shaanxi Aerospace Power Hi-tech Co., Ltd., vehicle-mounted plasma disposal platform for medical waste, intelligent handling system (two automated guided vehicles), and robotic blade grinding system.

The Cambodia Pavilion showcased its efforts to boost the digital economy development and accelerate digital transformation. It introduced developments of Cambodia Cement Chakrey Ting Co. Ltd., whose predecessor was Liu Shaoqi Cement Factory built by Huaxin Cement, tourism resources, and cultures of the country.

The Pakistan Pavilion demonstrated the contributions and achievements of Ignite-National Technology Fund in stimulating the development of the digital economy industry, digital developments in public service, enterprise support, youth empowerment, and employment, and e-government administration by the Punjab Information Technology Board. It also introduced rich tourism resources and cultures there.

Some international friendly communication cities and organizations attended the 2021 SCE online.
