Chongqing- Hitachi ABB Power Grids Ltd will build a world-class transformer manufacturing base in Southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality, which will become one of the most advanced manufacturing bases of Hitachi ABB Power Grids in the world, according to a written reply of Claudio Facchin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hitachi ABB Power Grids Ltd, on Thursday.

The 16th Annual Meeting of the Chongqing Mayor’s International Economic Advisory (CMIA) is being held between September 23 and 25 in Chongqing. As a member of the CMIA, this is the fifth consecutive year that Claudio Facchin has participated in the annual meeting. Hitachi ABB Power Grids Ltd was put into operation in 2020.

Facchin responds gratefully that Chongqing has always created a first-class international business environment and established a high-level market system, which has provided different ways of support for the company's development in the city.

Transformer manufacturing base and design center

According to the CEO, Chongqing has always been an important research and development and manufacturing base of Hitachi ABB Power Grids. Its Chongqing plant has now developed into one of the largest transformer manufacturing bases and design centers of Hitachi ABB Power Grids in the world. Moreover, the Chongqing Plant of Hitachi ABB Power Grids has participated in many Ultra-High Voltage projects in China.

With the emergence of business opportunities for international cooperation, its manufacturing base in Chongqing has gradually developed into a regional export center for Hitachi ABB Power Grids.

After the completion of the world-class transformer manufacturing base in Liangjiang New Area, the Chongqing plant of Hitachi ABB Power Grids Ltd. will contribute to the clean energy transformation of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and even China as a whole.

Help Chongqing to build an energy-sustainable future

With the advancement of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, the demand for electricity will witness rapid growth.

It’s necessary for Chongqing to build a stronger, smarter, and greener energy system, including properly laying out energy, transportation, industry, buildings and digital infrastructures to meet the energy demand of super-cities and promote the transition to clean energy.
