Chongqing - H.E. Anyin Choo, Ambassador of Guyana in China, has accepted iChongqing's interview during the 14th China-LAC Business Summit on Nov. 16, 2021, and shared her vision of the Summit and Guyana's relationship with Chongqing.

She referred to the data and significances she heard during the meeting, which indicated that China is the second-largest trading partner of the LAC region. The annual bilateral trade volume has exceeded 300 billion U.S. dollars for three consecutive years. The LAC region is also the second-largest destination for China's outbound investment, with more than 2,700 Chinese-funded enterprises operating in Latin America and the Caribbean.

When talking about the relationship with Chongqing, she introduced that Linden, Guyana was the 1st city in Latin America and Caribean (LAC) regions to establish the sister-city with Nanchuan district, Chongqing. Bosai Group (Nanchuan) was a Chongqing-based company that invested in Guyana for a decade, has contributed significantly to Guyana's outbound trade to China. Furthermore, through this business cooperation, local governments from both sides also reached dialogues for further development.

Though LAC regions are far from China, "despite the distance, it has not stopped cooperation, and it has not stopped the expansion and strengthening cooperation," she said.
