Chongqing - In the warm cheers and applause, the Opening Ceremony of 2019 Thai Festival Week kicked off on Shin Kong Place Square of Chongqing on the afternoon of April 30.

2019 Thai Festival Week is organized by Consulate of Thailand in Chengdu, Thai Trade Institute of Thai Chamber of Commerce, Chengdu Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Chiang Mai University. The Festival Week aims to promote the relationship between Chinese and Thai people. It showcases Thailand’s culture and art, tourism, tradition and fashion products, which has more and more people in Chongqing appreciate the charm of Thailand.

The Festival Week lasts from April 30 to May 5. Citizens can enjoy wonderful Thai culture and art performance, Thai tourism promotion, Thai commodity, and food exhibition. Business matching and cooperation are also available for those who seek business opportunities with Thailand during the Festival.

During the Festival Week, the central stage puts on traditional dance performance, classical musical instrument performance, folk singing, and Muay Thai performance. There are three rounds of performances every day, which respectively start from 11:00, 15:00 and 19:00. “I like the show. It’s wonderful. This is a good opportunity for Chinese and Thai people to know more about each other.” Said Ms. Wang, a visitor to the Festival Week.

The exhibition and sales of Thai high-end goods can be found around the central stage. 82 Thai enterprises have participated in the exhibition and sales, involving areas such as handicrafts, food, jewelry, leather goods, home decorations, herbal skin care products. The exhibition is on from 10:00 to 21:00 every day of the Thai Festival Week. “This is the first day my products show at the exhibition, but a lot of people have come to my booth. ”Said an exhibitor to iChongqing happily while she was arranging the herbal skin care products on her booth.

During the Thail Festival Week, the Chengdu Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand will hold a Thailand tourism sharing meeting (VIP room on the second floor of Shin Kong Place).
