At the 7th Chongqing (International) Cultural Industry Expo, held from September 7 to 9, visitors can take a glimpse at the exhibits of old Chongqing.

Specifically, one can find most of the old treasures at Pavilion N1, themed on cultural achievements of this metropolis of Southwest China.

Old Cabin of Chongqing Cableway

The Jialing River Cableway was the fastest way to go across the river in the 1980s.

Nowadays, the Yangtze River Cableway of Chongqing has been an indispensable scenic spot for tourists. Even though sometimes it takes hours queuing.

However, there was another cableway in Chongqing. Jialing River Cableway was the first cross-river cableway of China. It was launched on January 1 of 1982, and shortened the travel time across the river to 150 seconds. In the trial operation of 17 days, there were 171,106 passengers in total. And the price at that moment was only RMB 0.1 Yuan.

In 2011 the Jialing River Cableway was removed because of the construction of Qiansimen Bridge. But the two cabins were kept. Visitors can find one of them at the exhibition area of Dadukou District of Chongqing at Pavilion N1 of the expo.

The old cabin has been redecorated with 1980s-style neon light, which will definitely bring you back to the old times.

Golden silk wood masterpieces of Qing Dynasty

Staff members were busy arranging the exhibits on September 6th.

At the exhibition area of Yubei District of Chongqing, you will be astonished by the surrounding wooden exhibits.

Especially, there are three eye-catching 300-year old statues, made of golden silk wood.

At this place the visitors will have the chance to have a close look at a traditional Chinese bed of Qing Dynasty. This piece of furniture is also made of the precious golden silk wood, and decorated with complex hollow-carved images.

Additionally, there is an interactive area for visitors, where you can make a small woodenware by yourself and buy the souvenirs.
