Chongqing-Chongqing Municipality in southwestern China released its talents program, which plans to select 2,000 high-level talents 500 teams from critical areas and industries in a period of five years to create a favorable talent development environment, June 2, 2019.

People with talent are a strategic resource for China as it endeavors to achieve national rejuvenation and stay ahead in international competition. China must assemble the best minds across the land and draw fully on their expertise to make China a talent-strong country.

The program implementation measures on a trial basis clarify five special projects regarding excellent scientists, famous experts, innovative and entrepreneurial leading professionals, technical skills leading professionals, and top-notched youth talents. Moreover, the project settings can be adjusted, according to the needs of Chongqing's economic and social development and the construction of the talent team.

Chongqing has also shown its care and support for its talents from home and abroad. "As of now, 616 municipality-level talent service certificates have been issued, and more than 7,000 services have been provided. The talent satisfaction rate is 99%," said a relevant person in charge of the Organization Department of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Chinese Communist Party.

In addition, a certain amount of talent awards will be distributed to the selected professionals. Furthermore, a certain amount of research support funds will be given to the selected professionals engaged in scientific research, mainly for innovative research, improvement of scientific research conditions, results transfer, team building, and academic exchanges, etc.
