Chongqing- Grove Hydrogen Automotive Company Limited celebrated its first cars produced from its Nan'an District Chongqing production factory in Southwest China, April 13, 2019. The production factory is located in the China Intelligence Valley (Chongqing) Science Park, which aims to build a new-energy industrial park.

Grove has a brand new facility featuring state of the art techniques for installation of its hydrogen fuel cell powertrain and also incorporating the use of high-tech carbon fiber materials in the car frame in a very low environmental impact facility.

In anticipation of the Global Brand Launch at the Shanghai Motorshow this month, Grove has successfully prepared its facility in Chongqing for immediate success.   In the coming months, the company will fine-tune the production site to ensure the finest quality vehicles are coming from it and to ensure the reputation of Grove as a prestige car manufacturer.

What are the advantages of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are environment-friendly. "It is a demonstration of green development, and promotes the industrial transformation and upgrading," said Yan Fenghua, Director of Nan'an District Science and Technology Bureau.

Apart from the advantage of hydrogen as clean energy, this kind of vehicle costs less on the road, requires less hydrogen-fueling time and supports a longer journey without refueling, compared with traditional vehicles.

In 2019 Report on the Work of Government, it reads that "we will continue preferential policies on the purchase of new-energy vehicles and facilitate the building of charging and hydrogenation facilities."

Why in Nan'an District of Chongqing Municipality

What's the plan for the future?

Production for road going vehicles will begin towards the end of 2019 with a ramp up to full production during 2020 for local, national and international distribution.

Grove will be taking reservations for the first Grove cars and Chongqing is one of 6 markets. The company will launch first in reflecting the importance of China's great central city.

In addition, Chengdu is also on Grove's early roadmap, shortly following Chongqing.
