On November 15, 2018, the press conference on the fourth edition of Chongqing Beibei Talents Week and Wits in Beibei activity took place in Beibei District, Chongqing Municipality.

Themed with “talents come together and Beibei shows style”, the event will run from November 23 to 29, 2018. Its hosts are the Chongqing's Beibei District Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Beibei District People’s Government and Southwest University.  Moreover, its five sub-events are Wits in Beibei, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Results Exhibition, Human Resources Service Forum, University Students Visit Beibei and Young Teachers Visit Beibei.

Beibei Talents Week and its sub-events are about Beibei local conditions and development position as well as utility of district scientific and technological resources. In addition, Beibei continues to attract talents mainly for four major industries, namely advanced manufacturing, strategically emerging industry, modern service and modern agriculture.

Important guests to gather in Beibei suggest for the city development.

As an important part of the Talents Week event, Wits in Beibei activity is open to friends from all walks of life, who studied, lived, supported here or anyone willing to be part of the city. The event serves as a platform for aspiring people to discuss and cooperate. Moreover, the event is designed to pool comprehensive resources and realize joint contribution and sharing by talents, enterprises, the university, and the city.

More than 130 important guests, from areas of management, investment, cultural creativity, communication and science and technology, will come to Beibei. It is worth mentioning that the inscription, Zhi Hui Beibei, Gong Mou Fazhan (literally means that wits in Beibei promote its development) by Chinese academician Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice, for the activity, went public after the press conference. Last but not least, other academicians include melon-growing expert Wu Mingzhu , sericulture expert Xiang Zhonghuai, karstology and geology expert Yuan Daoxian and developmental biologist Meng Anming.

Beibei will exhibit more than 300 scientific and technological items.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Results Exhibition is to be held in Southwest University Museum. It will display science and technological products from Beibei enterprises and student makers’ space.  More than 300 items will exhibit here.

Talents staying in Beibei promote private economy development.

The sub-events of University Students Visit Beibei and Young Teachers Visit Beibei will help more job applicants and employers know each other and promote cooperation on research results and projects.
