Chongqing Fuling Comprehensive Bonded Zone (hereinafter referred to as “CFCBZ”), the fourth of its kind in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, will complete its construction and start operation before September 2019.

On December 18, Fuling District convened a press conference on the progress of the  CFCBZ construction.

Advantageous multi-modal transport of rail, road and water transportation

On October 4 this year, the State Council officially approved the establishment of CFCBZ. Furthermore, it is the fourth comprehensive bonded zone in Chongqing and the second one outside the downtown of Chongqing.

According to the press conference, CFCBZ  enjoys geographical advantages as Chongqing at the intersection of the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Moreover, it has a planned area of 2.7 square kilometers in Chongqing Fuling Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

In terms of water transport, CFCBZ is adjacent to the Yangtze River known as the “golden waterway”, and faces Longtou Port—Chongqing’s hub port—across the river.

The annual shipping throughput of Longtou Port is 30 million tons. It is the westernmost port for the 5,000-ton ship and the 10,000-ton fleet of the Yangtze River all the year round.

As for the road and railway transport, there are three expressways and three railway logistics channels around CFCBZ. It has mature conditions of multi-modal transport composed of rail, road and water transportation.

Chongqing Fuling Comprehensive Bonded Zone to be completed and operate before September 2019

According to Du Haibo, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Fuling District Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor of People’s Government of Fuling District, after the approval of CFCBZ, Fuling District will spare every effort to achieve the goal of putting it into operation within one year.

The construction of CFCBZ consists of two phases. Moreover, the first phase covers an area of 1. 82 square kilometers and the investment in infrastructure construction is RMB 3.2 billion. At present, various infrastructure construction projects are well underway.

According to Du Haibo, the construction of gateway, boundary wall and fencing, information system and comprehensive office building in CFCBZ will start at the end of this December. In addition, all the projects will be completed and put into use by September next year as scheduled.

The total investment of the contracted projects has exceeded RMB 3.75 billion

It is reported that CFCBZ will rely on the industrial base of the one-hundred billion level of Chongqing Fuling Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone to focus on the development of industries such as bonded processing, bonded logistics, and bonded services.  

Currently, the total investment of the contracted projects is RMB 3.75 billion. Additionally, it is estimated that the annual output value will reach RMB 12.4 billion after reaching design capacity. And the annual import and export volume will be up to USD 1.4 billion. The total investment of the projects under negotiating is RMB 2.5 billion. Moreover, it is estimated that the annual output value will reach RMB 11.2 billion after reaching design capacity. And the annual import and export volume will total USD 1.2 billion.

Moreover, the projects mainly involve food processing, medical treatment and health, intelligent manufacturing, smart home, cross-border e-commerce and headquarters settlement.
