According to China Mobile’s Chongqing Branch (Chongqing Branch for short) on June 20, the company was building the largest data center in Chongqing — China Mobile’s Chongqing Data Center (the Center for short). The construction of the second phase will start in the next half year, and the Center will be fully operational in June 2021.
Located in the Liangjiang International Cloud Computing Industrial Park in Liangjiang New Area, the Center is one of the critical projects in the industries of cloud computing and big data in Chongqing. It follows international telecommunication infrastructure T3 standards with the availability of central facilities reaching 99.98%, and annual average failure time less than 1.6 hours.
The Center project is planned in three phases. Once completed, it will achieve an operational capacity of 20,000 cabinets and about 200,000 servers, becoming the largest data center in Chongqing and the most important infrastructure and open platform for Chongqing Branch based in Western China with national interest and global vision.
Together with emerging technologies such as 5G network, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and big data, the Center will promote the innovative industrial development of Big Data Intelligence in Chongqing and play a key role in optimizing industrial layout, accelerating industrial upgrading and boosting the integration of informatization and industrialization in the city.
