The 2018 New Financial Summit of Jiangbeizui (hereinafter referred to as the Summit) will be held this Wednesday, December 19 in SW China’s Chongqing Municipality, aiming at enhancing the city’s financial sector and economic development.

 

To dialogue with scholars and experts in finance and economics

As the name indicates, the Summit will take place at the Jiangbeizui CBD area, located in the very center of Chongqing city. The keywords of the Summits are “New Era, New Finance, and New Techs”.

With the widespread application of emerging technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and blockchain in the financial field, they are reshaping the financial ecology with rapid momentum. The financial service models and types are undergoing profound changes as well. Inclusive finance, smart finance, and microfinance are becoming new directions for the development of the financial industry.

At the Summit, scholars and experts in finance and economics, including Gao Shangquan, Qi Bin, Thomas Sargent, among others, will address speeches and talk at roundtables to discuss these issues.

 

Over RMB 1,000 billion financial assets gathered in Jiangbeizui

The Summit is a platform for Chongqing to dialogue with the experts in the financial field. Also, it is an important event for the CBD to showcase its achievements in opening-up and innovation in the financial industry.

According to the presentation of Jiangbei District, venue of the Summit, as of the end of September 2018, there are in total 2173 enterprises and public institutions settled in Jiangbeizui CBD area, among which 15 are national-level financial enterprises or headquarters, and about 50 are regional financial enterprises or headquarters.

In Summary, the financial sector has been the core industry of Jiangbeizui CBD area. Also, there are other supportive industries such as service industry, culture and tourism, modern trading. In addition, it is also aiming at new emerging industries. Up to now, over RMB 1,000 billion financial assets have gathered in this piece of land in central Chongqing.
