Chongqing - On January 29, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce released statistic data. In 2018, the industrial output of Chongqing Xiyong Micro-electronics Industrial Park reached RMB 176.1 billion, with an increase of 10%. Meanwhile, the value of foreign trade in the Park was RMB 206.7 billion, with an increase of 20.6%. Additionally, its value of foreign trade accounted for 42% of the city’s total, 4% higher than last year.

Intelligence-driven

Chongqing Xiyong Micro-electronics Industrial Park signed 113 new investment projects last year, including three of the ten-billion-yuan level.

With obvious development of intelligent terminal industry, it has promoted the construction of intelligent factories by processing and manufacturing enterprises. It invested over RMB 200 million last year for intelligent transformation on 153 production lines, reducing over 2,000 workers.

Also, driven by the intelligence-oriented plan, the original OEMs received new orders and launched new products. For instance, the outputs of Quanta and Inventec increased by 34.4% and 16.6% respectively. Moreover, the concentration of traditional products like computers, printers and displayers intensified significantly.

In the integrated circuit industry, the park introduced many influential projects, with a total investment of nearly RMB 30 billion. In 2018, the output value of the park’s integrated circuit reached RMB 13.9 billion, with an increase of 21.4%. It accounted for more than 80% of the output value of all integrated circuit industry in Chongqing.

Additionally, the settlement of Inventec PC R&D Center and Intel FPGA China Innovation Center improved the park’s industrial R&D capability.

Service innovation

According to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, there are 151 projects of China (Chongqing) Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Out of the 70 projects related to Chongqing Xiyong Micro-electronics Industrial Park, 47 ones saw completion. Among the 141 innovative initiatives of Chongqing, 43 were completed out of the 80 ones related to the park.

Moreover, the park firstly launched two national business innovations this year. They included business innovations of the “cross-border e+” of corporate e-bank and cross-border renminbi settlement under the personal current account. Thus, having handled businesses valuing over RMB 40 million, they greatly increased the settlement efficiency of enterprises. Also, they effectively improved the financial service environment of the park.

Meanwhile, the park broke through the choke point of cross-border e-commerce development. It also built many distribution warehouses like Danone for imports. The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor under the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstrative Initiative on Strategic Connectivity facilitated cross-border e-commerce commodity transportation.

However, the park took the lead in realizing it, finding a new direction in foreign trade. Its annual cross-border e-commerce transaction volume reached RMB 2.48 billion, with an increase of 35.5%. And it accounted for 47.6% of the total transaction volume of the whole city.

The park vigorously strived for policy support, becoming Chongqing’s second development zone under the policy of 50% VAT restitution. That greatly enhanced the attraction for high-tech projects to settle here.
