Entering the community through facial recognition, downloading the app on your mobile phone, automatically watering flowers and plants with a sprinkler head in the garden, giving an alarm when the maintenance hole cover is offset. What do these have in common? These aren't the fantasy scenes in the science-technology movies, they are the daily nuances of residents in a newly-built smart community in Hechuan. On July 23, 2019, Work-site Exhibition of Smart Community Construction was held in Liujinxiangxie Community, Hechuan District, Chongqing, which was the first time for work-site exhibition of smart community construction to be held in districts/counties rather than main urban areas.

More than 200 smart communities will be completed next year

Since Chongqing officially launched smart community construction in March 2018, 93 smart communities have been completed, covering a construction area of around 15 million square meters in the city already. The city will strive to build more than 200 smart communities by 2020.

Smart communities are modern residential communities with intelligent buildings, comprehensively applying new-generation information technology such as Internet, big data, and cloud computing, to provide a safe, comfortable and convenient modern and intelligent living environment for residents in community from government information, logistics information, property service, business service and other aspects related to community.

Preferred Security Measures

There are many evaluation criteria for smart community construction, among which one of the critical evaluation contents is whether security measures have been completely prepared well or not.

When entering Liujinxiangxie Community in Hechuan District, residents can open the door by facial recognition. Residents can also send temporary QR codes to visitors to enter. The Smart Access-control System in the community is closely linked with the fire extinguishing system. In case of emergency, the doors of the community and each separate building can be automatically opened. Protected by the variety of security measures, residents can relieve the worry of home security.

In addition to the Smart Access-control System, the community is equipped with Smart Calling System, Smart Alarm System, etc. Alarm signals can be timely sent out in case of emergency by the applications of garage water monitoring, carbon monoxide monitoring, and other advanced methods.

High-efficiency Management on Equipment

The purpose of building smart communities in our city is to provide high efficiency, convenience, and comfort of intelligent life for residents in their daily life.

To create the high-quality living environments for residents, except the installations of numerous video monitoring systems, Liujinxiangxie Community achieves the high-efficiency management and control on various equipment by making use of the Internet of Things perception data collection terminal technology and various sensors, instruments and meters to perceive the real-time status of construction and public equipment.

As with other smart communities, the Smart Irrigation System also highlights this community to create an atmosphere of intelligent life. After launching automatic start-stop function of the Smart Irrigation System in the community, several sprinklers in lawn and green belt can automatically spray water mist and the blossoming umbrella-shaped spray in the community looks greatly spectacular.

Physical and Psychological Health

At the exhibition, many guests are interested in the health service system in the community, which can help residents to test height, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar and do other routine examinations to keep track of their health.

It is not only the health service system to monitor residents’ health. In the public space of the community, the environmental monitoring system is set, where a variety of parameters, including air quality, wind speed, noise, etc. in real-time are displayed in the information release screen. In an unusual situation, residents will be advised to reduce outdoor activities.
