Chongqing-The 2019 Smart China Expo Blockchain Forum will take place in Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality on August 27, according to Tuesday’s press conference held in the downtown Yuzhong District. This forum is themed with “linking new industries and building new ecology”, focusing on internationalization, green development, intelligent technology, and city culture.

Qiao Hong, deputy head of the Yuzhong District People's Government, said that the forum will combine with the exhibition. The forum will gather relevant leaders, well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad, famous entrepreneurs and other heavyweight guest lineups to share their views on the innovation and industrial development of blockchain technology. Fellows of the Royal Society and the British Computer Society and other famous foreign experts and scholars will build a platform for the international exchange of blockchain technology, and to achieve new developments in the blockchain technology and related applications.

Moreover, exhibition means that representatives from more than 240 domestic and foreign enterprises have been invited to the Chongqing blockchain industrial innovation base and the Yuzhong District Headquarters Economic Park to conduct an on-the-spot investigation of blockchain industry development and in-depth experience of blockchain application scenarios.

Qiao Hong said that for a long time, Yuzhong District has insisted on applying the blockchain technology in city management, evidence chain, agricultural traceability, elderly care, food, and drug supervision as well as 5G with market demand.

The blockchain industry is an important engine for the big data intelligence industry in Chongqing. In November 2017, the Chongqing Blockchain Industry Innovation Base was established. At present, the base has achieved initial results. There are 40 contracted companies and more than 30 enterprises are under negotiation. It endeavors to attract more than 150 blockchain technology and application enterprises within three to five years and build a highland in the western region of the intelligent industry.

During the forum, professional reports such as 2019 China's Outstanding Blockchain Solutions and Application Cases and 2019 China Blockchain Business Environment Development Report will be released. Moreover, the development environment and application scenarios will be systematically analyzed.
