Chongqing - From March 21^st to 26^st, the delegation led by Minsk Governor - Mr. Isachanka is paying a visit to Chongqing, to seek a broader and deeper cooperation with its sister city in trade and business, cultural tourism.

During the visit, one person’s efforts to promote the relationship between his hometown and, in his words, his favorite city in China shall not be missed. He is the Belarusian Ambassador to China – Mr. Rudy Kiryl.

During the China Chongqing – Minsk Belarus Business Forum held in Chongqing on March 22^st, the Ambassador took the interview with iChongqing to talk about his opinions on the cooperation between Belarus and Chongqing.

“I believe Chongqing plays one of the key roles under Belt and Road Initiative. Because Chongqing has railway routes that connect Europe with China.” Mr. Ambassador spoke highly of Chongqing’s strategic role in logistics on Belt and Road Initiative. He also saw great similarities between Belarus and Chongqing on this point. “Last year, 3000 trains came from China to Europe through Belarus. We are the destination of logistic where trains are going. And Chongqing plays a similar role in China.” Said he.

Mr. Rudy excitingly concluded the positive trade volume between Belarus and China last year. “Last year we have very good statistics about the trade between Belarus and China. Our agriculture export from Belarus to China increased over 3 times, and milk export to China increased 9 times.”

“With the deputy mayor of Chongqing, in November of last year, we together met the train loaded with milk from Belarus to Chongqing.” He recalled the scene touchingly. “We also had cooperation in machinery, a joint venture with Zongshen Industrial Group.” He added.

Mr. Ambassador always shows his love over Chongqing. He told iChongqing that “I have been saying this on many occasions. Chongqing is my favorite city in the whole of China.”
